Forging.
The first method of metal forming used by mankind. Yet,
to this day, its extreme complexity still makes it a rare
art almost exclusively confined to the aerospace and military
industries. The superior properties of forged wheels are
undisputed, but few manufacturers have the technical capability
to tackle such technology. At RDSport we use forging as
the primary construction method for our wheels, but we
are also pioneering new avenues such as Semi Solid Forming
(SSF), as well as using very proficiently conventional
counter-pressure casting. We will do whatever it takes
to provide you with the most advanced product of its kind.
The RDSport RS-4 is the most trend setting wheel design
of late. This should have been expected, since its designers
are the ones that pioneered some of the most innovative
wheel concepts, starting with the hollow spoke in 1986,
the soft-line 5-spoke design in 1987, the front mount
3-piece wheel flange in 1988, and the convex outer lip
in 1989. The RS-4 is our latest creation: it is simple,
efficient, with no frills, true to the RDSport tradition. |
